Today I switched the bass woofer from the B&O system to something a little more pure. It was a lott of work so not recommended but a fun experience with my son.
I went with the Excursion SX 69M for more power, its 200-watt peak rating gives it much more headroom than the B&O’s 80 watts. The output sounds cleaner because it isn't being pushed to its limit, which keeps the audio from distorting.
It is a common misconception to think speakers don't have headroom, especially when you hook an 80-watt speaker and a 200-watt speaker up to the exact same amp. Think of it like pushing an engine to its limit; the 80-watt speaker will stress out, overheat, and distort the sound the second a heavy bass drop hits because it has zero room to breathe. Meanwhile, the 200-watt speaker has way more physical space and thermal backing to handle those sudden power surges without breaking a sweat, giving you crisp audio instead of a distorted mess. Speakers might not create electricity, but they totally decide whether your music sounds clean or completely choked. #ford #mustang #machegt
